MORGANTON - A tip led investigators in Burke County a home where they said a man was growing dozens of marijuana plants.
The Burke County Narcotics Task Force went to a home on Holly Court in Morganton Tuesday, after complaints of marijuana being grown at the home.
As investigators tried to make contact with someone inside the home, they said they could smell marijuana from inside. In a release, investigators said they were speaking with family members outside when Jesse Rajive Jhaveri, 23, ran inside to try and destroy about a dozen marijuana plants growing in the basement. He was taken into custody.
When investigators searched the home, they found 36 marijuana plants growing in the basement, with a street value of $86,400. They also found drug paraphernalia.
Jharveri is charged with manufacturing marijuana.
